Part 1 of 5 Season 4, Episode 9: Angel Gabriel Blue Original Air Date: 25 December 1994 Richard discovers that he has a fungus infection while Hyacinth is in the midst of creating her new dream kitchen. Horrified at Richard's condition, Hyacinth insists that their friends and family must be told it is gout, one of the more aristocratic ailments.

    That’s Trevor Bannister, aka Mr. Lucas! I was sure it was him from the start, but couldn’t help checking IMDB to confirm my hunch. :D

    Lol @ Hyacinth rolling her eyes at the unassuming young couple. (She obviously thinks they’re putting on airs, which is exactly what she is doing!)

    @Jude1968 i dont think ive seen this episode on PBS either. ‘Sea Fever” i did catch on PBS a few years ago but i havent seen it on lately. they probably only put it on rarely since its so long

    @Jenny8817 why is that ? Because they aired on Christmas? The episodes themselves have nothing to do with Christmas.

    For some reason, this one was not in the regular rotation on my PBS……I only saw this one on DVD along with “Sea Fever”

    i always wondered how richard can afford hyacinth’s … well hyacinth herself…and sheridan of course. he must have had a huge income and a decent pension now that he is retired…
    still, poor man, that he never is in charge of his own finance or allowed to treat himself a little after a life of work. especially when he still got the hardest years ahead
