Wildcat Angels Announces Strong Launch with Funding for More than Half of Presenting Companies

Evanston, IL (PRWEB) May 03, 2011

Wildcat Angels announced today that it is off to a running start in its mission to facilitate early-stage investments in high-growth companies. The angel group has now helped to raise funds for five of the nine companies that have presented at its initial three events.

“This is a first class organization with some very connected members and great deal flow,” remarks Tony Kolton, a Wildcat Angels member who was President and CEO of a technology company that was sold to Morningstar for more than $ 50 million in December 2009. Mr. Kolton made a six-figure investment in a company that presented to Wildcat Angels.

Wildcat Angels is based in Evanston, Illinois, and hosts quarterly dinner meetings at which pre-screened entrepreneurs and management teams, primarily from Northwestern University and the Chicago-area business community, present investment opportunities to members. Members are executives and entrepreneurs who are interested in investing both funds and expertise to assist startup companies. Individual members make their own independent investment decisions.

Founding Wildcat Angels board member Bill Sutter states, “Wildcat Angels provides the connection for aspiring entrepreneurs to successful executives, mentors and investors. Additionally, by engaging outstanding Northwestern students as part of our deal-screening team, we are working to create the next generation of successful entrepreneurs and investors.”
